I discarded my "explicit velocity" idea, which didn't give anything better
than a very energetic and vigorous sheet of rubber...

However, I did try to improve the air resistance and the wrinkliness of the
cloth. I think this time it is neither too stiff nor like a melted chewing
gum.

I want to experiment now with wind! I hope it won't be too difficult, as I
already have some of it in the air-resistance routine.

I think this time it needed more triangles, but I didn't have the patience
to experiment with finer mesh.

As always, I'll be happy to read your comments and suggestions.

Fernando.

booooo - if it wasn't for the energetic ending that was your best

If this cloth of yours infinetly thin in your simulation? Cause one of the
problems with these animation has been that at the end the cloth seems to
fall far too flat to me. During the animation you have a beautiful
simulation, but at the end it comes to rest almost all in a plane.

Why doesn't the sphere reflect the falling part of the cloth?

Jim

What happened to the two middle wrinkles?

Today I woke up with another idea, maybe I can recover what you liked from
that animation.

Thanks for your comments :)

Fernando.

Yes, I would like also to have some wrinkles at the end, but I still don't
know if the gravity is too strong.... or maybe there's too little friction
in the floor!!! let me try that...

Thank you, you've inspired a new idea. Let me see if it works.

Fernando.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the cloth is so thin and so close to the sphere
that the camera doesn't get any reflection from the cloth.

Fernando.

I think that the mesh is not thin enough, and those wrinkles are not folding
very realistically... If I have enough time, I'll try to test with a finer
mesh to see if this gets fixed.

Fernando.
