Jamie pointed me out that he couldn't read my earlier posts because of a
setting I had changed when I posted my cloth video. I would like to know if
anyone had the same problem.

Thanks,

Fernando.

No I hadn't since I couldn't find your post showing your movie. Sorry.
Can you re-post it? Or is it downloadable from the web?

I also made the awful mistake of not attaching the file to the message! But
I did attach it in an inner thread. The title is
"Cloth experiment (MPEG1)" and the date is 14/01/2002 11:41

Please tell me if you still don't find it so I can upload it to a site in
the www.

Thanks for telling me,

Fernando.

I found it now. Sorry I wasn't looking INTO the threads and tried to find it
as a "root" message.
Looks fantastic!

Is the cloth independent of the objects it slides down? Or is the sphere a
part of the computation and just visualised with the sphere visible in the
scene?
Is it possible to describe the basic idea of the algorithm with few
sentences?

cool stuff.

Hi Juergen!

The cloth does interact with the sphere and the floor. My later posts do
interact with air (though I'm still not very happy with it). However, the
earlier algorithm just "pushes" the cloth out of the sphere, whereas my
later experiments change the forces in order to "slide" over the surface.
Also, this new method gives me the possibility of applying a friction
coefficient to the sphere, but I haven't experimented on that. But I could
try doing it and visualize it as a rough rocky sphere....

Thanks for your comments!

Fernando.
