Here's an improved version. No time to comment right now. There's some
errors in this one that I didn't manage to fix yet, but they're not very
visible because the legs are moving rather fast.

    That is much more realistic.

I'm very impressed with your various walking routines. I would have to put in
much work before I could come up with anything even close. Given that, I hate to
offer any critical feedback. Since you asked for some on the last anim, I'll
offer this: Some of the legs on the inside turns seem to have only minimal
forward motion, so they look like they're just moving up and down in place.
Perhaps you could add a test to set CurPoint to PrevPoint if the distance
between PrevPoint and NextPoint is below some threshold. You may have already
done this at some point, because I don't notice this behavior in your Quintoped.

Spiders are our friends, they eat the other bugs, the bugs that
really -do- need the shoe.

Thank you!

But constructive critical feedback is what I appreciate the most! :)

Sharp turns should in fact indeed cause this behavior as I see it. I don't
think a leg can just skip a turn - it goes up and down even if it doesn't
move much forward.

However, apparently there is another problem with the steps being too small
(glad you noticed it too). I've been looking into that, but it's more
difficult to fix than I thought at first. I'll try to fix it though.

One interesting note: in an updated version of the animation that I've made
but not posted here the spider is hairy and looks more realistic, and I've
got rid of the checker pattern on the ground. The individual frames look
much better, but for some reason that I haven't figured out yet, the
animation looks like stop-motion, like monsters in old movies. That's not
what I'm aiming for so I'm trying to figure out what causes it. It might be
some changes I've done to the walk cycle - or some bugs in my code...

The one on your webpage? To be honest it looks perfect IMHO - I'm not sure I can
spot the monster-movie problem, it looks very fluid. The only fault, if any, is
behavorial. Could you try varying the pace every now and then? He could even
stop to check something out on the ground...

Hit it with a shoe! Extremely nice animating Rune. Has a life-like
appearance, the way it traverses that surface it's crawling over. Each leg
seems to be sensing for ground to cling to.
