try doing several shorter clips and sticking them together - like a real
film. dont be afraid to make things slower that they would be in real life
to get the full effect

watch a few of the nasa shots for an idea :)

Colefax's explode and spray includes to break up that object and toss it

And I would try to compress the file a bit more ... tried mpg ?
looks like it's been converted to 256 colors .. why ?
