I scaled the turbulence longer in the y direction and made the animation
quicker and boy did that improve the fire a lot! :D
In my opinion that is... :)
The bad news is that it looks horrible on any background but black, even
dark grey. That makes it pretty useless for practical purposes. :(
If only POV-Ray could adjust the output pixels with an exponential curve as
I, and others as well, have requested before, then it might work on brighter
backgrounds too.
Oh well, I'll probably have to use media for now but I think it's a shame
since the glows look so good. :(

Looking good! Almost looks *too* quick, given the scale I'm imagining (and
it can't be too much smaller, since then the detail is too much)
Dunno what to do about the lighting issues, though. I've had problems with
glows as well.

That's much, much better. Well done.
BTW, any idea when you'll release your final code?

You're probably right.

Short answer: No.
Longer answer: The system itself needs many more features and improvements.
After that comes documentation writing and then sample scenes. Chances are
POV-Ray 3.5 comes out sooner. (Not that I know when 3.5 comes out, but I
don't know when my system comes out either...)
But I'll keep you updated. :)
