Actually, internally it is very much like my previous cloth algorithm
(before I lost it in my last HD crash), but now I don't care about a bit of
elasticity and it is not a 2D surface but a "rubber" chain. This is a very
early test.

I hope you like it.

Fernando.

It's very good, I've been pondering about such a thing myself but it'll be a
few weeks before I have the time.

Cute.

I'm not sure if your system can take care of that, but how
about several of those thingies bouncing around, with
some strings which just take care that it looks like the
balls are rebouncing from each other?

Just an idea.

Rather slow, but yes it did look rubbery. Nice job. You know, you just
reminded me of one of Jaime Vives Piqueres' ideas. He wanted an include for
draping wiring and cables over objects. Do you think you could come up with
some thing like this? Sure would make adding such things to a scene much
easier.

Thanks! I hope that this little thing can be a source of inspiration :)

Fernando.

Maybe I'm not understanding your idea very well... Let me rephrase it to see
if I understood you: Hang several of these "strings" and implement some kind
of interaction so the balls can bounce against each other?

The main problem that I see is that the strings should tangle very easily,
and I don't think that is an easy task ... :(

Fernando.

Hi Tony, I'm glad you liked it. Jaime's idea is indeed a very good one. The
main problem is the interaction with objects. As my program is not coded in
POV, this object would have to be some primitives so they can be implemented
in the same code without too much hassle.

Coding the system in POV code perhaps would facilitate this interaction but
I fear that it would then be awfully slow!

Thanks again,

Fernando.
