Hi. It's been a while since I posted an anim. This was just an experiment
with photons mainly. Three rotated cubes are differenced from a sphere.

Render time was around 8 mins a frame on my P200MMX 48Mb RAM.. quite quick
considering.

It's beautiful, I like especially the colour. But I don't see how the
object is made, unless you cut out the three cubes completely inside the
sphere?

Thankyou.

Yeah, that's right. It's really simple actually.. but I think the refraction
makes it look more complicated than it perhaps is:

difference {
sphere {0,2}
        union {
            box { -1,1 rotate y*45}
            box { -1,1 rotate y*45 rotate x*90}
            box { -1,1 rotate y*45 rotate x*90 rotate y*90}
        rotate -clock*360}
material {Glass}
photons { target reflection on refraction on ignore_photons}
}

Surreal. And I think you're right, that's a pretty fast render for what it is.
The twisting action as it slows to a stop before repeating seems to give it
plenty of motion even without landmarks to perceive that with.

Dunno.. they started off quite extreme (see new post 'Photon Turn'), but the
more complex I made the internal shape, the more the photons 'weakened'. To
tell the truth, I don't really understand photons.. I just copied and pasted
settings from another scene file.

Hey hey I didn't say that. Besides I'm the king of half-finished
songs lately, so I'm impressed with anyone who can complete a
tune nevermind making one that sounds good as you've done.
