Got a tip for you that might work out for this to prevent the oversaturation.
Change the extinction value to get larger in the scattering media (assuming that
is something in this) so it keeps to a more uniform brightness as the camera
drops to the galaxy plane.  Or lower the scattering, raise the density,
something like that anyhow.  Suppose you may have already been thinking of it
but thought I'd bring it up anyhow.
Might try some turbulence in the spiral pattern to uneven it some.
