Here's an old animation I made, before there was motion_blur. I did it by
using multiple copies of the same object with more transparency. I tried to
redo this in MegaPOV, but either the trails were to short, or you couldn't
see a gradient, and ended up with a blurred streak. I liked neither, so I
stuck to my old method. If someone can improve the motion blur to work like
in this animation, I would be very greatful. Enjoy.

Interesting.
I did an example scene a while back with ways of getting different blur
effects from MegaPOV motion_blur, I posted it in one of the scene file
groups. You might find it helpful.

I knew someone had done that. I forgot to check it out though. I'll go see
what I can learn. Thanks.

I clearly stated in the title that it was a FLC. Look around for AAPLAY. I
don't think MPEG would be very kind to this file.

Hope I'm not being too much of a brute, BUT,

those who cannot read html and Vcards in their news readers ought to download
Netscape Navigator and purchase Microsoft Windows,

right?.

Or, we can respect that some people have various limitations on what kind of
software they are ALLOWED access to, or have personal and political preferences
for liking and disliking certain software companies. We ought to meet on a
common ground where we can all see all the postings, no? MPG is the key to this
common ground.

I'm sorry if I caused you any discomfort, Greg. I hold you in high regard as
a respected member of this community. I never want to get anybody mad. I was
under the impression that you were a slave of the Windows OS, and
recommended AAPLAY. I think there are players for other OSes as well. For
Linux I've heard of xanim (someone help me if I'm wrong here). FLC is a
classic (old) format, and I have tons of files encoded with it, mine and
many by others. I like it because it uses 256 colors (small files) and I can
control the frame-rate of playback. I think that MPEG would compress the
**** out of this tiny image, and it would be best to leave it as is. I
assumed everyone here had some way of playing it or getting a player for it,
as, like I said, it's a classic format. Sorry. Have a nice day. =)

For UNIX in general and for LINUX.
