I don't use the plain coding of POV much, so this is rather simplistic.

The Animal is just a blob, of course. To animate, I have about 1/3 of
the blobs scale by the sin function, and 1/2 of the blobs translate in
any of the 3 directions, also with the sin function. This makes it loop
nicely.

To improve, I'd like to reattach the sign to the glass, and have a
little more variation in the movement. Perhaps some blobs moving by
sin(2 * clock), to have them move twice per cycle. Also, the goo
refracts, slowing down the rendering, but is hardly noticible in the
animation. I should take this out, along with the refracting glass, or
else put in something to make it obvious

Have mercy on a newbie to animation! :)

I like it...looks like it's breathing. It could do with some sense of surrounding
environment, rather than just black..perhaps a laboratory with colourful fluids in
jars
lit from within etc..
