I originally adopted beta just to get multi-core. After sticking with beta 3.7
for (how long? :) ) I have noticed and appreciated the attention that is going
into making this software better than ever. I don't shout a lot and kind of hide
in my corner, but this software has become very important to me. I would like to
thank all the people who work on it, and contribute in various ways to making it
run smoothly. I am putting this in the beta newsgroup although it might be
general interest, but the beta effort to me is the indication that the tool that
I love to use will continue to evolve.
Thanks!

Well said, Ken. I second that heartily.

I feel the same, though I sometimes fail to hide into my corner.
I bought myself a new laptop with I7 m architecture, First thing I did was to
try povray 3.7 beta with the default biscuits and woodbox scenes. Boy was I
impressed!
Yesterday on some blender forum though I have been a blenderhead for years, one
guy just ventured "mais povray c'est pas un peu nul?" translate "but doesn't
povray kind of suck?" I blew my fuse (I am usually an extremely patient person
but sometimes you know...) And i started making a list of all the povray
features that blenderheads and Luxrender users have been asking (or missing
without knowing it) for years, and which Povray had. For some of them it had
them before I was born, but a good half of them where put in between 3.6 and 3.7
too. This is such a good sign. I made a link to the hall of fame, advicing the
guy to go out a little more (who am I to say that!). Of course I did try to
mention its weaknesses and could find only two, but they are features that
Luxrender doesn't have yet either.
Thanks!

Agreed, I was captivated by this software when it was PVRay ... and have
watched it grow and evolve over the years, and has always been a
rock-solid piece of software. Cheers to the POV-Team!
