Well, it seems I can go on rendering after all. I have an error in a
macro which I have to trace. Still, this message is totally unrelated to
the problem so there must be a bug (?) somewhere...
Using 3.7 RC3 of course.

there have been a number of changes since RC3, starting at change #5474
that was attempting to fix FS#208:
http://bugs.povray.org/task/208?project=2&order=id&sort=desc
and there were also some follow ups: #5475, 5477, 5479 and 5480 then
finally #5487-5490 ... perhaps that's what you're looking at, and those
fixes might mitigate the problem.

I am lost with this info, but it might be ;-)
I found the problem in my macro (a lower case character in a value name
instead of an upper case character).

Stupid, stupid, stupid. The reason for the message was simple of course:
when a parse error occurs, POV wants to open the corresponding file
and... I had already the maximum number of files open. Time to manage my
files a bit more :-)
Did I say stupid already?
