A scene containing no objects crashes in beta 6. Adding a camera or
light_source doesn't help.

Example scene:

// start of scene - this scene crashes - end of scene

I don't think this bug was there in earlier betas but I can't confirm that.

I'm using POV-Ray 3.5 beta 6
on a P150, 16MB RAM
Windows 95 4.00.450 B IE 5 5.00.2919.6307

Perhaps it's something with the new optimisation then?

Anyway, here's the crash message I get:

I could not duplicate that. It renders a black scene without problems.

POV-Ray 3.5 beta 6 Athlon Windows ME

You're supposed to write what computer you're using, not just the operation
system. And in this particular case it might make a difference. I myself am
using an old Pentium 150 as I wrote.

Ok, it works both on Athlon and K6.

Rune,

does POV contain any optimisations for PII (and above)? If so, it certainly
will crash on a PI.

It's not that easy, AFAIK the intel compiler generates several versions of
code for the different processors, therefore the executable is also much
larger.
