Windows ME, P-III 933Mhz, 384MB, PovRay 3.5.beta1.msvc.win32:
If I try to open multiple files, but one of them is already open, it doesn't
work. E.g. I open \scenes\objects\blob.pov. Then I click Open again, click
on bezier.pov, hold shift down and click blob.pov. Both get selected. I click
the open button - nothing happens.

I can confirm this bug. It will be fixed ; thanks for finding it.

Umm.... that's the way it has always worked, in fact that's the way it works
in almost any windows app, if you have the file open then its open!

Many other programs work the same way, probably intentionally. If you change
this, shouldn't there be a warning message or something so you don't risk
loosing the latest changes to the file?

This is correct, but the part of this that is a bug is that the extra files that
have been selected also aren't opened, even if they aren't already open. (The actual
result depends on in which order you select them).

You misunderstand. The 'not opening the same file twice' is intentional, not a bug,
and won't be changed. If you follow the example given in the original bug report,
you will see that there is a genuine problem there, that is different to the above.
