Hi, Ive got everything set up properly, and my script generates numbered
images. How do I turn them into an mpeg/gif? Is there a way for pov on
windows to output to animation directly?

The short answer is no, not in Pov-Ray. You need to use a 3rd party
programme such as TMPGEnc
http://www.tmpgenc.net/
If your Pov file output is in png format you will need the PNG plugin
for TMPGEnc

Or VideoMach
http://www.gromada.com/videomach.html
Or A N other programme of your choice.

Not directly from POV .... I have QuickTime authoring , and have produced
some rather nice .mov title sequences for slide shows
have also animated a blob lizard as well (he was just shaking his head and I
added my voice saying "No Way"

also very usefull in wondows if you
end up with images in the wrong format:
IrfanView (free)
It has a batch processing mode (press "b")
witch can do things like format convesion,
brightness adjust and resizeing a whole set
of images with a single command.
It also can show a list of images as a
slideshow (press "w"), witch is very helpfull
to see what a (still rendering!) set of images
looks like at 50 Hz.
(set time interval to 0.02 sec.)
see also my renaming pov file in
povray.binary.utilities:
("pov -> ffmpeg -> ogg theora tool")
if your animation software has trouble with the
leading zero's in the filenames.
jaap.
