Not specifially a Pov-Ray topic - sorry if this is considered bad form...

However,

(a link to a 34MB on the left of that page) is a very clever automation of
animation from a MIDI music file. The website of the creators
(www.animusic.com) says that this was done with some propriatry MIDI
software and 3DSM - I think it could easily be done in Pov-Ray with macros
and a quick program to output ASCII note information from MIDI files.
Anyone seen this sort of thing done in Pov-Ray before?
