It is a QuickTime movie demonstrating the new particle interaction and
emitter texturing features. It has two emitters whose streams of
particles merge into one.

Yep, same here. Lights are on (home page is there) but nobody home.

I just tried it again, and it works fine. Make sure you get the
capitalization right, "multitex2 movie.mov" won't work. Otherwise...it
should work.

Most people aren't accustomed to having spaces in urls, Outlook will create
a clickable link for urls, but stops at the space.

This should work also (at lease for Windows/IE):
http://homepage.mac.com/chrishuff/mpovplus/multitex2%20Movie.mov
and Outlook won't choke on it.

Thanks, I was putting a / in-between there and it hadn't occurred to me it was
meant to have a space.
Ok, seen it now. The overpowering purple streamer pushing the yellow streamer
is great, the color mixing flickers about a lot but tough to say how it should
behave. Except a mixing amount might be the way to go, you know, like hetero-
or homogeneously. This animation seemed an blend of the two, if that makes
sense. A better way to say it might be: if you had blue and yellow mixing to
just green or retaining their blue and yellow colors only.

Got it, this space irritated me and OE.

Sorry about that, I will keep from using spaces in online files in the
future.

The texture mixing can't really be helped...it is a blob.

Interesting... Show me some more. :) Why didn't you announce this in
.general?

Later. Right now I am making some modifications which will allow much
more flexible animation and particle generation options. The
"custom_particle" feature is gone, for example, but now you should be
able to get particle information like position, radius, velocity, age,
etc. through functions, so you can do much more. And the whole system no
longer has to be recalculated each frame, you should be able to use the
persistent objects feature of MegaPOV to calculate only what is
necessary. And I plan on adding things like fluid types, particle
fission/fusion, custom inter-particle force profiles, low-speed impact
effects...

Some other modifications I have made already: collision detection is
much more accurate, and you can specify a texture on an
emitter-by-emitter basis(demonstrated by the animation).

> Why didn't you announce this in .general?

Er, well, I didn't think about it. I assumed anyone looking for an
animation would look in povray.animations.
