I am impressed with the fleibility of POVRay. I would like to know what's
the best animation/modeling program. I have downloaded tons of stuff and
haven't had a chance to start looking at any one particular package. Let me
know if my list is close or way off:
Anitmt
POVLab
Poet-3D
Anim8
Animsys
Behemot
Dave G's Animation System
Now3D
Moray
Whatever your favorite is?

Well, Moray is a modeller that works directly with Povray. I mean it uses Povray
primitives etc and outputs Povray scene files to Povray which renders them. The
new version also allows you to edit meshes. There is an animation plugin as well
so you don't have to leave Moray to create animations. There is a insert code
plugin to enable you to write Povray code in a Moray scene. IMO Moray is the
best all round modeller for Povray. But I don't create or modify meshes much,
except for Poser figures so maybe someone else can help with the others.

I've never tried Maya or Renderman, but I hear they're pretty good... ;)
Actually, I've been playing with Art of Illusion lately
(www.artofillusion.org), and it seems pretty solidly built, with good
quality images and animation support. One program I _didn't_ like was
Amapi, mainly because the documentation sucked and (even worse) there was no
animation support.
