I'm looking to have some fun with one of my POV animations. I'd like to
render a small intro to my animation that utilizes the familiar
'start-of-a-film' clip where you see numbers counting down toward zero,
usually with a circle around it, etc. Is there a technical name for this
intro portion you occasionally see?
Anyway, would anyone happen to have a small clip (or a link to one) showing
this phenomenon? I can't seem to find one, and my poor attempts to render a
similar sequence look... well, not very much like what I seem to recall it
should look like. Any help would be appreciated.

It's called the "countdown" and runs from 10 down to 2 seconds
with the remaining 2 seconds being black before the actual start
of the production. I remember Adobe Premiere has a default
countdown that comes with it.

Here's all I was able to find of one in action, very quick entrance page
animated gif.
http://www.flahertyseminar.org/
The other I found was a place selling the film strip leader itself for use
in film making but it only showed a still of a few frames. Seems the
rotating sweeping line type isn't the only kind now that I've looked for
this thing. Some say countdown to 2 others 3, with 2 being where black
frames and sound sync begins. Numbers 9 and 6 spelled out, for obvious
reasons.
I had done one of these before but only a very unofficial guess at it. Were
circled numbers as image maps, and no idea what I named the file or where it
is now anyhow.
