Hi,
At
http://home.inreach.com/rtowle/Polytopes/star_polytopes/starsection.html
is a 550K Quicktime movie of parallel solid sections of the
four-dimensional regular star polytope, {5/2,3,3}. The individual
sections--about 120 of them--were found using Mathematica, and an
#include file written for each section. The POV scene file calls each
#include by number.
The sequence of sections more or less makes a morphing of star
polyhedra.

That's really striking.
It sort of makes me want to see more .. maybe slower or something.
Any thoughts to a texture?

Thanks! It was difficult enough to scrunch this animation down to 500K. I
have made dozens of other animations, in POV, many with elaborate textures
and enironments, and at large frame sizes, up to 800 by 800. These files are
all in the many megabytes. In some I used a series of 500 sections instead of
only 120, to slow things down.
Mark Newbold has made a Java applet, inspired by my animations, in which one
can progressively stellate various 4-polytopes, and take solid sections there
of. If your browser handles Java well, try
