Hi all.
I have the codec to play divX vid in windows media player, but I also
have a number of anims in avi format, that I made in POV-ray, that I
would like to convert to divX;).
Are there any animation progs that will convert between the two formats?
Thanks Alex

Hi Alex,
Any animation software that allows you to select which *.avi compression
codec to use will suffice. I like VideoMach, which is free for
non-commercial use. Find it at www.gromada.com

As someone already said, if you have the codec, then any program that can
read and write avis can do it.
However, some programs are better than others and have more options.
I personally use and like a lot this one:
http://www.virtualdub.org/index
At first it feels a bit hard to use, but once you learn to use it, it's
very good.

Huh. I've tried to write AVI with the Rad Game Tools (or rad video tools,
whatever) - the one that allows you to encode to Bink. But I've never seen
the DivX codec as one of the choices.
The only other thing I dislike about that program is that it cannot use MPEG
video in any way, shape or form.

But isn't that sort of the point? I mean it's Bink
it's supposed to be better than MPG. :o)
I like Bink a lot.

Do you have a DivX codec installed in your system? You have to install
one separately.

VirtualDub supports MPEG as input.
