I have this idea (taken from the movie "hackers") about playing a small
movie (made with POV-Ray of course) when I start up my computer.
First I thought about doing it in dos:
I need a player which can play mpeg/avi in dos, so that I can execute the
movie from autoexec.bat with something like "c:\povray\prog\player.exe
filename.avi"
I've found a ms-dos program (sea) which can play avi files, but it needs
interaction before it starts, and I just want it to play, and when finshed
exit and continue the startup.
But I can also do it fom windows:
I place the movie in the startup folder, but how should I be sure it'll play
in fullscreen?
Are there possibilities to use switches in mplayer.exe so that I could make
a shortcut like "start movie.avi /fullscreen"
Another stuff is that I've set media player to loop the movies, and the
intromovie shouldn't loop.
Maybe I should use some other movie player just for that purpose?
This got a bit messed up.. hope you understands it.

May I suggest Smacker? There is a free coder + [;ayer on
www.radgametools.com and a free dos-based player, smackply.exe can be
found on the official POV-Ray CD-ROM or, if you don't have it, it
should be available on ftp.povray.org
