Greetings POV-Ray Animators,
I am proud to announce that DTA v3.0 is now available for download.
As some of you may know by now Dearmad no longer has a website for DTA and
has dropped out of site. After some serious searching I found a valid email
address for David K. Mason who was kind enough to compile a final version of
the program complete with bug fixes that were discovered during the alpha and
beta testing periods.
While there are no new features it should run a little more reliably and
I pressured David enough to provide me with a list of command line switches
for the DOS version of the program. After some negotiations with Chris Cason
he has agreed to host DTA on the FTP server at povray.org.
The archive DTA30.ZIP (732 kb) contains the following files -
1.) dta.exe - The DOS executabe of Dave's Targa Animator v 3.0
2.) dtawin.exe - The Windows executable of Dave's Targa Animator v 3.0
3.) zlib.dll - A runtime library needed by dtawin.exe
4.) vfwinfo.exe - A DOS executable that will return a list of the CODEC's
available on your system
5.) DTA_30.txt - A list of command line switches for dta.exe and
registration information for both programs.
6.) readme.txt - A read me file for this release
7.) files.txt - This file
DTA30.ZIP may be downloaded from either of the following two locations -
ftp://ftp.povray.org/pub/povray/utilities/dta
http://www.povray.org/ftp/pub/povray/utilities/dta
Cheers everyone,

It should be noted that neither I nor the POV-Team offer any support
for this program which remains the sole responsibility of David K. Mason.

You never cease to amaze me. Your efforts will not be in vain because I'm
going to download that file. Maybe if Dave Mason gets some fresh cash in
his pocket he might reconsider and continue to make improvements or add
features, although he's up against plenty of freeware out there. Main
advantage to DTA being lossless animations helps but even though the file
sizes are kept reasonably small they aren't near as small as the lossy kind.
