I have tried using both the IPB and I formats with CMPEG and both ways I
get huge files.  I don't see a difference between the two.

For example, whether I type

C:>  CMPEG  I.CTL       LIST.TXT MOVIE.MPG
or
C:>  CMPEG  IPB.CTL   LIST.TXT MOVIE.MPG

I get roughly the same file size either way.

Hmm, same here.

I use the Xing settings myself.
