Animation in POV is simply a matter of getting control over the clock value. I
don't use too many external programs so everything is in native POV-code for
me. I do have a file that might help. I developed while developing some
animations a few months back:

It deals with POV-Ray animations only. Unfortunately there is no simple way to
do animation with POV-Ray. As in the previous message stated you could also try
C. Colefax's ClockModifier.
My site basically helps you understand how to use the CLOCK variable and use it
to create animations. If there's any more information related to animations in
POV-Ray to hesitate to email me.
