Does anyone have an idea on when the new Moray might be coming out. Is there a
way to give donations to speed things up?

Same thoughts here. I certainly don't have the coding experience to
"upgrade" Moray - but if there were a channel to funnel donations solely to
the Moray development, I could be enticed to donate.
Povray is an excellent raytracing effort; but without an "abstraction" layer
to help us coding-challenged individuals, Povray will probably remain a
program for the gurus.

Although personally I am drifting more and more to mesh modelling, I
remain a Moray fan. From what I have understood in the past, I think
that Moray will come into the picture when POV version 3.7 is finalized.
It would then probably be reworked in such a way as to be version 4.0
compatible. However, these musings are just my two cents.

I'd really love to see a return of Moray. Does anyone know who's coordinating
this project, or any idea who to contact and ask how to help?

Try its website (http://www.stmuc.com/moray/mesupp.html) and 'off-topic
news group' (news://news.povray.org:119/povray.off-topic)

To answer your question in o.t., Moray has always worked best with
POV-Ray version 3.5 as its latest release was optimized for that
version. It did not work optimally with 3.6, and probably not at all
with 3.7 although I have not tried.

Thanks for your answer Thomas, I'll use blender or other modeler until
Moray gets updated then.
Cheers.

Bishop3D is maybe an alternative as a csg modeller, but I am not
familiar with it.

I'm looking freeware, I don't want to pirate unless I have no other
choice, I can't afford software because getting a credit card in this
Country you need to have a salary far superior than mine.
