Reinstalling has fixed the problem. Wish I knew what happened.

This is not an answer to your problem, I am afraid, but I have sometimes
elements not working properly anymore. I have assumed over time, that it is
due to a depletion of user's memory. Often, rebooting the PC is enough. But
in more serious cases, I have had to reinstall indeed.
