Hi,
Is there any good way to make a helix with moray? I want to make a coil
spring. I tried using the new mesh and was not happy with the results. It
really slows down the program. I know I can make one using a sphere and
duplicate with orbit, but it takes 1000 spheres, and still you can see the
segmentation, which I don't want. Has anyone any experience with this?
Thank you,
Steve Shelby

Or you could try using halves of torii.

There is a free program called Helixir, wich creates a variety of 3D
helical shapes for use with POV-Ray and Moray.

It exports to UDO-Inc.

Here is the link
http://www.evolve.co.uk/helixir/

Hope this helps

Txemi,
Thanks, that's just what I was looking for.

Sorry, just overlooked this.
There is also a helix plugin for Moray, written in FullMoon. Can be
downloaded from the Moray site.

So did I :(

You could try with a csg union of a repeated quarter torus (intersect torus
with a cube)
