Hi everyone, I've got a little question. I'm probably just overlooking it
somehwere but could anyone tell me how to make a 'looks_like {object}' light
in moray? I don't see the option in the modify tab for lights.
Thanks in advance,
Owen

Moray frequently asked question No. 23b <grin>

Create the item you want your light to look like. Check the No Shadow
check box. position your point light (or whatever) inside said object.

Jamie.

Select the root level of the object.

Does that really do the same thing as the looks_like flag?

IIRC, it does manually what POV does internally when you set looks_like.

Internally the looks_like object is also translated by the location
of the light source.

Just create a group, add both light and "looks_like" object and apply
transformations to the group

The advantage to me of doing it manually is that you don't need to
create the looks_like object with the origin in the right place, you can
build it however you like and manually position where you want the light
source to be :)

Or maybe I'm just weird :)

Jamie.
