Sure, that detailed and even more. You have a "browser" view to see your
scene's scheme, with your objects' names and textures.
If your have made CSG operations, they are displayed in their order.

Talking about working and placing objects, you can use the "povray method".
Simply write the values you want to enter in the desired box.
I usually work that way. If you have some knowledge about povray SDL it's a
fine method.
If you want to move your objects with the mouse directly my advice is "use
the bottom X Y Z buttons to constrain the movement along one axis each
time".

If you do the tutorials you'll know enough to be able to evaluate this great
program right.
PS: The one about the inverse kinematics will solve all your doubts about
CSG objects.
