Hello,

when setting an image size of 40960 x 30720 Moray crashes, while POV traces
o.k.
I know this is very big, and is not very often as big.
Has it to do with the backdrop?

Not very important.

Greetings,

Er? What would you do with an image that big? Get a massive
printer and do a tapestry? ;)

No, of course the image is useless nonsense.
The size is about 1.25GB. This is much too much for the largest printer, and
large format printers use a RIP anyway.

I got a new box, and before I can do important work with it I set it under
maximum load a few weeks.
So I can guess if the machine runs ok or not.
A machine that crashes because of hardware faults is not acceptable.

This 40960x30720 is because I know a given scene is ready in 1h when
4096x3072, so the machine will work for about 100h tracing the image.

The POV test is not the only one.

As said the crash is not so important; but because of perfection a program
should not crash because of stupid user input.

How 'bout making the image 1 x 1,258,291,200 ? hehehe
