hi mitchell!
Dearmads visibility levels only changes the visibility of objects in
moray. if you want objects not to be rendered, you must uncheck the
render-checkbox of the objects.

You read my mind. I was just trying to figure out how/where to control an
objects rednerness. Does each object have such a checkbox and where exactly
is it hidden?
thanks

Hi Mitchell Waite, you recently wrote in moray.win:

It's on the Modify Tab of the object with the other flags (no_shadow,
etc). It's labelled "Export".
Note that export is only considered for top-level objects. Children
are always exported if parents are exported.
Also take a look at Layers for visibility stuff. Using Ctrl-1 toggles
layer 1 on and off.

that reminds me, how difficult would it be to give objects a variable detail
level?
something like, highest setting draws everything, medium draws only main
object and immediate child objects, almost lowest draws only the parent,
lowest gives you a bounding box?

The current architecture would make this a tad bit difficult.
Especially keeping the non-OpenGL viewport drawing....

oh, and that's reminded me of another thing!
seeing as you have to generate all those triangles for the open gl viewport,
how about an export as mesh?

I think it's more meant to imply that he could well be working on such a
feature and doesn't want to tip his hand.
