When i try and use a .gif for a hight field that i made in sTile99
povray gives me
the error
test.pov.93: error: error reading data from GIF image.
I was using moray and other gifs work. what should i do?

Try opening the .gif file in a normal image viewing program. If your
image viewing program can open it then POV-Ray should be able to use
it. I do not recall ever having that problem with a .gif file before
and I have used many of them for HF's in the past.

Also check that the gif is not interlaced.

if you're using megapov, i think gif support was taken out due to legal
issues. use png instead.
