Ok, I get a reall problem here that while I know I should know how to do
this, I dont. Is there any way on this lovely planet to "paint" onto an
object, say for instance I used leveller to make a landmass and then
imported that into Moray as a raw file. What I would like to do is put a
spot of green there for grass and some brown there for mountain, much the
same way as Myst island looks. Anyone out there?

I'm way out here, but that's another matter.

What might be useful for you is to use the MegaPov slope dependant
texturing, although you would have to leave Moray in order to do that.
There are 3D "paint" programs available which allow for a kind of painting
onto objects but then you're limited to using the model format that is
possible from that. Again, not a Moray thing.
http://www.us.righthemisphere.com/dpaint3d/product_information.htm is one
such (costly) program.

That's all I can say on it.

Bob

one of the reasons these povray newsgroups exist is so people can look
through them for answers to questions that may have already been asked
and discussed. i'm not saying you shouldn't post your questions, but
you seem kind of new and may not realize that these newsgroups can be
great research tool. so try subscribing to most of the groups on this
server and searching for similar questions. it has been discussed many
times and there are many solutions. there are even tutorials out there
like the genesis toolkit. have a look, and have fun.
