i'm posting the mdl and support files in moray.binaries. an animation
will be posted in povray.binaries.animation and a couple images from the
animation will be posted to images ng. i've made a couple changes since
the anim. first of all, you will notice that the torpedo tubes in the
anim are all messed up. i'm not sure how that happened, but i fixed
it. also, the front landing gear looked too light weight, so i beefed
it up a bit. also on the front landing gear, the top supports can't be
seen and i fixed that too. as for an r2d2 and a pilot, i believe there
are some high quality meshes out there somewhere. scale of this model
is one unit equals one meter.
there is still a lot to do as noted in the readme file, but i'd like to
work on some other things for a while. a plain vanilla megapov version
for non-moray users will follow in a few days.

I seem to be getting the occasional "mess up" with my .mdl's as well
regarding the animation parameters. There seems to be a data integrity issue
somewhere - lines are getting crossed or something. I can't really pinpoint
an exact set of symptoms, but for example: I saved a file containing
animation keyframe information for the camera. I returned to the file at a
later date and low-n-behold the camera's last keyframed position was now the
first keyframe's position - the original position lost in the "aether".
I've taken to writing down coords on a scrap paper (or creating an ACAD .dwg
file of an object's path), just so I can know where & when everything's
supposed to be. Is this due the way keys are linked to the _names_ of
entities?
Is anyone else experiencing similar anomalies or should I be expecting men
in white coats to come knocking on my door soon?
Wondering,
-Kelly (kla### [at] usacom)

Thanks, Ryan. Your examples posted in p.b.i. look very good.

Hi Ryan, everybody,
When I read you were doing an X-Wing, I thought of digging up my old
Tie-Fighter I uploaded a looong while back in the Moray library and turning
it into a Tie-Interceptor. I'm pretty happy with the result and if there is
any interest, I could upload it too. Maybe we could get a SW-category in the
ObjLib :-)
Cya, Jake.
