Is there a way to export MDL files to another format (*.3ds *.x *.raw)?

Thanks in advance

There is. It is with the standalone version of PolyRay. Current version is
1.8a.
It has an option to output the rendering as raw triangles to a file. I
tried it
recently and it worked. You can still output straight from Moray to
PolyRay.
Put polyray.exe in the directory PolyScn in Moray, and choose PolyRay as
the
active renderer. Replace your textures with dummy textures of names you
find
in colors.inc, as Moray does not export textures to polyray with the later
versions,
only the names, as it's features aren't supported anymore of PolyRay.
Put this colors.inc that comes with polyray in Polyscn and make a test
render
from Moray. Now, to output as .raw you have to set the render option to a
value
that Moray does not know, so you have to make a little .bat file, one line:

polyray mystuff.pi -r 4 > mystuff.raw
. You can make that with NotePad, it's text format. Doubleclick it, and
Poly writes
the file. I could import this allright in Rhino, but had to do it object by
object, as
otherwise it came in as one big thing. The .raw is explained in the docs,
that come with Poly,
it can actually do quite a few other things.
I have poly on my hd and did not need the url, it's not in my docs of 1995.

You can write to Alexander Enzmann
xan### [at] mitreorg for poly's adress, or someone knows it here?
Hope it helps.
