I am lost! This may sound silly, but how do you make a Media in the
Texture Editor, and after that make it appear in the Settings|Media
list? I tried different things but without results...

Go to the actual media itself, and click on properties...yes, it seems
strange, but thats how you do it.

Thanks Alex, however I seem to miss something here. In the Settings|Media
folder the only thing mentioned is "no named media found", even if I make
a material in the Editor with the name "Media". So, I must be doing
something wrong, or I am missing a file somewhere....

You need to add a media node to the material and then you need to give
the media a name. Then it will appear.
