In your older versions of Moray, you had a nice sky automatically
exported with each export. Do you have any options like this in Moray
3.01? I've been trying to find a good sky texture, and the ones with
clouds aren't right, and it is very difficult to generate my own.

Sure, the same mechanism is still in place. Moray pastes the contents
of the file MORAYPOV.INC into each and every file it exports. If you
place a sky_sphere or a background statement in there, you will have
it in all the scenes you export.

Do you place the sky_sphere between the comments? won't it be commented out?

Better still, Make an .inc file that has the sky_sphere stuff ie.

sky_sphere{
 pigment{
  color rgb <0.4, 0.2, 0.6>
 }
}

Then Save it into a seperate 'skies' directory as (for instance) skypurp.inc
Then, in moray, click 'settings' then 'include' and include the skypurp.inc
file.
Now you have a directory where you can put sky_sphere files and choose which sky

to use in which scene.
ie. Dusk, Lots of clouds, stars, etc.
