Create a new scene, merge wallplate1.mdl, then screw1.mdl.  Copy and 
paste object screw001.

Also query: what is with the animation plugin complaining about keys for 
unknown objects?

Looks like it's the screw that's *ahem* screwing things up; I tried 
merging each mdl and copying in new scenes, the wallplate was fine.

Problem solved?  I removed the name 'Ivory' from the pigment in the 
wallplate1.mdl file, which was conflicting with the Ivory texture in 
screw1.mdl
