Hooya, the results are out, and I placed 7th!

For a first try, at least in the top ten, way
to go!

All six winner images were made with povray.

I wonder what is the reason behind this.

i think pov3.5 is a huge advancement and there is getting less need to use
large generated mesh files. having said that, the only new features i
really capitalized on in my entry was the sphere_sweep and helix
functions.....but im working to understand the rest :)
congrats to all.

YOU wonder that?. The man that challenges Povray with Lightwave, Brazil....,
and wins? ;-)
(I'm sure you are joking).

<does victory dance around room> My highest placing
ever. Thanks to every one who gave suggestions and
comments for the versions I posted.

But there are people out there using high-end modellers/renderers such
as 3D-Studio and Maya which participate in the IRTC. Yet they don't succeed
winning. I wonder why.

I just wanted to read opinions.

i guess that most people who use 3ds and other expensive software (for irtc
anyway) just dont use it to its full potential. if you look at 3ds specific
sites some of the images are mindbending. on the other hand, povray users
tend to try and squeeze out as much as they can from the software. for me,
its the fascination of creating images by code. just a thought. i might
be wrong.

Well congratulations, I'm in the l&ast ones...
I had really a good (at less for me ;-) idea which was fractal, but really no
time to make and render the pic! Finally, I've just what I merited!

Once again, I've seen wonderful pics! Congrtulations to all, and especially
winners!
