The IRTC site down?

I get this message on 'Submit':

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to
maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

This is marked as error 503. In fact, I get this from all links from the
submission page (such as help,

So sorry, guys, no submission from me.

John

Yep, I kept getting that too for a long time tonight - I suppose from too many
people all trying to upload at the last minute. I started getting a bit panicked
- but I tenaciouly kept refreshing the page until I finally was able to login
and post my shot literally 1 minute before deadline (hmmm, this is becoming a
habit with me, the last minute posts; I need faster computers!)

... or maybe you need to start to work on your shots earlier :-P

I _wanted_ to. We've had 40C temperatures for the last three days,
creating havic with about everything: internet loss, general mains
power loss, CPU overheating and shutting down, and finally the operator
overheated when submitting to the irtc went down.

I've had this 503 problem several times before, and _not_ anywhere near
submission. Is the server really so critical?

Well, as I mentioned in my reply to clipka, I really wasn't in the mood
anymore to do a submission competition. If the server isn't capable of
handling the traffic, why don't we simply send them in by e-mail? That
way they'll be queued by the mail system.

I was actually directing that advice at Robert; he seems to have a habit
there...

Last minute uploads...Well, it seems to me that submitting *before* the
last minute is just throwing away time that could be spent on further
improvements--tweaking, greebling, that sort of thing.

Because NO scene is ever *really* finished...
