Since I only plan on working on still images for the IRTC, I really
don't feel qualified to vote for animation topics. Why must we vote for
a topic in both categories? Might I humbly suggest that that criterion
be lifted? For now, I'm just voting every animation topic as "fair"
just to put something down.

I write and maintain the topic suggestion system.
I just now started reading this newsgroup (look out!).
Anyway, I think what you're asking for is reasonable. Though, it's
not simple to adapt the system to allow you to skip the anims votes.
I think it's possible though and I'm willing to give it a try when I
have a chance.
Greg had a good point though. You can rate topics based on how you
like them for viewing. Say, if Pixar did them or something.
