I read a comment regarding that subject saying there is not enough time
to make a good one.

May I suggest announcing two topics at once, topic N and topic N+1 with
the contest ending dates being the current weeks appart?

I agree that it might be useful to announce the next subject a little
earlier. I always get anxious waiting for the next topic to be announced. Or
maybe the admins could reveal the current voting on topics? I think that
would be very interesting, so you can see what sort of topics people like
and what one's most likely to be the topic of the next round.

But to be honest I do think there's enough time. I'm not having to spend too
much of my free time on the animation I'm working on at the moment, and I
even took a break for a couple of weeks when I had the flu! But it's still
looking very good. I find the best trick if you need a head start is to work
on things you know could be useful. I didn't do it this time, but often for
the stills competition I'll decide to learn some of pov's more unusual
features, or create some generic useful macros.

Still, that said I'm sure I'll be panicking at the last minute as usual! :)
