And I have uploaded my entry. I appear to be number 4, so there just
haven't been many entries this round yet? What's up with everyone? The
deadline is looming... are you all about finishing?

I had to use a different machine to render my final animation yesterday,
going from a Mac to Windows, and I used cmpeg to encode the tga files, and
it played fine on the W2k machine, but my Mac can't play the file.
I think I'm in trouble.

CMPEG is a rough program... I must have spent more than
three weeks playing with that thing before tossing it into
the virtual trash.
Can you convert it to an AVI? If you have the TGA's go get
BINK at http://www.radgametools.com and convert them into an
uncompressed AVI then use AVI2MPG and compress them into
MPG. AVI2MPG does (IMO) a much better and accurate
compression job for half the labor.
Good luck!

But why bother? I'm not interesting.

I got cmpeg to work okay for my needs, but I had to ftp it five times
before I figured out how to get a binary upload instead of ascii...
I'll try those tools the next time I enter the competition.
