The problem is that Windows uses a different code for return than the
Mac. POV-Ray should work fine with these files, though readability is a
severe problem.

>1) how should he/we do to transfer pov files right ?<
Either your friend will have to use a word processor to convert the
files to PC text format, or you will have to use the "Find and Replace"
function of a Windows word processor to replace each of these characters
with a Windows style return.

>2) he seems to say that the pov files on a mac retain information
such as resolution, render settings... How does it work ?<
Macintosh files can have a separate fork for "resources" such as code,
graphical interface elements, icons, etc.
The Macintosh version of POV-Ray stores the settings for resolution,
etc. in this resource fork, eliminating the need for .ini files. There
is also an option to output these settings to an .ini file.

Oh, about my macro collection...if you continue to have problems, I will
upload a version in PC text format(soon, but probably not until after
school ends-June 3). I will also post a HTML version of the
documentation to text.tutorials.
