Image lamp-round-dl-lb.jpg is a version of the lamp scene in the Aiming
DeskLamp thread in p.b.animations, post-processed for iris diffraction.

I actually created this scene in 2005, but never posted it because I
hadn't yet posted my first RSOCP image at that time. It originally used
my first stab at a lamp macro. Image lamp-round-v1-1.jpg uses v1.1 of
that earlier lamp, because I did not save v1.0 of the macro.

Slight correction: This was a 2022 re-render of the 2005-2006 scene. For some
reason, I did not include assumed_gamma 1 in the original scene file, as Bald
Eagle reads this in disbelief. This scene was created on a computer other than
my home computer, and I remember having gamma issues with that other computer.
I suspect the monitor was not properly calibrated. By November of 2006, I had
moved all my stuff off that other computer onto my own, but I am still in the
process of consolidating the 2 directory trees. (After 18 years? Must be low
priority.) I got around to this scene in 2017, and rectified the omission. The
old non-gamma-corrected images are still languishing unconsolidated on my
off-line backup drive, and I'm wondering if I should just leave them there to
age off.

I've been increasingly reading everything in disbelief.

Believe it or Not. ;)

btw, these are very tasty images.
I still find it impressive that you've spent 20 years honing this object until
it's at its current highly developed level of sophistication!
