Greetings !
This is a brilliant of my cones collection from different parts of the
world. The model was built by "Metashape" software:
https://www.agisoft.com/
with great assistance of Paul Bourke, who opened to me the world of
photogrammetry. Then I converted it to POV format with POV-Ray studio:
https://povlab.yesbird.online/studio
To produce this model I captured two circles by 50 photos each with a
help of DIY controller-driven turntable with a stepper motor, that also
controls a shutter of my Canon G-15 (attached).
Now I am completely enchanted by the power of photogrammetry and have
huge plans about creating 3D herbarium for botanic garden, where I am
working last three years.

This is very cool and something I was not aware of. I would have spent ages hand
coding such a model with blobs ;-).
Still, if I tried to do what you have done it would take me longer to understand
it ;-)

Thanks, the magic of photogrammetry saves a lot of time :).

Things are sometimes much easy, than we expected. Metashape has a
friendly interface and straightforward workflow. All the rest is also
not too complicated.
