I modeled just a twist drill a while back, and as I often model things
graphically through CSG operations that mimic real-life machining, I learned a
lot about how they're made during the process.
Since it's all "white", it looks to me like you're gearing up to render that
with some great textures and radiosity. I look forward to seeing your final
render(s)!
