I was inspired by Rune's animations showing his Al the Alien walk along curved
pathways.  His system had perfect foot placement.  I was starting to play around
with a similar system for my characters.  At first, I was going to make the
stride length for each foot be aware of the instantaneous curvature of the path,
but I'm now wondering if that's worth my while.  This is what I have so far:
