C or C++ Documentation, where is it?

Hi

I'm not much of a programmer, a few years ago I did some C using an
old Borland package, but now I'm using Linux and would like to star
debelling again.

With perl I have the perldoc documentation that tells me almost everything
that I would ever want to know about programming perl, and I'd like to know
if there's anything similar for C, and if not is there a good source of online
documentation anywhere (hopefully downloadable)?

And secondly is the jumpt from C to C++ really all that great, or is it just
like the difference between using perl either with or without objects?

Any advice on these matters would be gratefully received.
